Sales management

Managing your production and sales is key for running an successful business. It starts with prediction and plans but does not end there. In the following ar.cle we will try to point out what is important to place your product in the market and especially what you need to think of before doing so.

Sales  planning

First you need to think of what your product is about. What is your target audience? Is there a market for your product and what or who are your competitors? Try to establish a sense of purpose and get a clear direction for your sales. Don‘t make intelligent guesses, go for exact guidelines. To achieve this you will need to do a research about the market, consider the positioning of your product and include direc.ons from your marke.ng strategy.

It is important to plan with almost every aspect and contingency that could occur. Your team needs to predict the eventual demand for the product and with that plan ahead what machines will be needed / how many people you will need to employ or both. Also consider the demand for more products or services could increase rapidly. The goal is to be able to deliver as soon as possible as customers order your product. The better this workflow works, the higher is the possibility to increase your sells even further. On the other hand you should plan with a quickly decreasing demand too to keep the financial loss as low as possible in the case that your product does not hit the market as predicted.

This may sound as a hefly task and it is true that there are companies that have a department employing over 50-100 people just for this field. But, of course, it all depends on the size of your company and the production line you work with. A great example are numerous clock and watch makers in Switzerland and the german Black Forest. The cuckoo clocks produced there are shipped all over the world but everything is managed yet by a fairly reasonable amount of people since the  common  lock  makers are only running a small family business. So it all depends on your product range and company size, from a cuckoo clock maker to a chocolate factory it varies how big the amount of work behind your sales management really is.
